Keep On Course

"From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to rock that is higher than I." Psalms 61:2

This Psalm is sometimes called a supplication song. Supplication means to "beseech or implore; to ask or beg in a humble way." It gives us a glimpse of David in a private moment when he cries out to God, as he is faced with a traumatic situation in life. It is good to know you are not the only person who has ever had a problem. You are not alone. Trouble is not a respecter of persons. It is not prejudiced toward you. It does not care about your social or economic status.

Do you feel like David today? You know you are saved and chosen by God, but heartache and pain continue to visit your doorstep. You cannot simply pray all of your struggles away, because sooner or later God will make you face them head on. There are times when it seems like hell is coming against you. Then you wonder, "What went wrong? How did I get here? Why am I facing all these problems?"

Cry out to God, but do it like David, with humility. God will answer and lead you to your destination. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. You may not know how you are going to get through this, but God will keep you on course.

"God has your map!"
