Uncover What Is Hidden

"But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light." Ephesians 5:13

When Joshua and the Israelites conquered Jericho, they were so confident in their God and the previous results, total annihilation, that when they went out to fight the next city, Ai, they did not send all the troops. But they not only were defeated, they suffered causalities—thirty-six soldiers were dead. It devastated Joshua.

God revealed the source of their defeat. Hidden under the tent of Achan were the spoils of the war, which were "off limits." God had previously warned them to not take anything from the city of Jericho for it was "devoted" or "set-apart" to God as a first fruit.

Sin in our lives will bring harm, not only to us, but also to those whom we love dearly. It is best if we uncover our hidden treasures ourselves. If not, God will expose it eventually. Seek God with a humble spirit today and with honesty. Open every area of your life to God. Allow Him to remove the dirt of shame and fill you with His love.

"Everything that is hidden will be uncovered."
