Warfare: Possess Your Success

Understanding the times and seasons of God is important for perceiving your destiny. Your individual mandate falls within the bigger scheme of God’s timing. Your individual mandate will have attacks launched upon it by Satan, and these are marked by the enemy’s perception of what God is doing in the spiritual realm.

The Bible makes it clear that a battle line has been drawn between two kingdoms. One is the kingdom of God: the kingdom of light and righteousness. The other is the kingdom of the devil: the kingdom of darkness, evil, and all lies. The kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness both operate in hierarchical order.

Satan has tried to copy God’s hierarchical organization and as such, has organized ways that he attacks believers. Your enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy you. He doesn’t want to just give you a bad hair day, or make you lose your patience. He wants to cause you to forfeit all the blessings that God has around the corner for you, and the ones you have already been blessed with too. Thank God that as a believer, you always belong to the winning side! Still, you must know how to legally engage in spiritual warfare to overcome Satan.

God is going to give you a “suddenly” defeat over all your enemies! Everyone who has shot an arrow against you – who has spoken against you.. God is about to take them down. The Lord has harvest for us!

God has been speaking to us concerning breaking cycles, taking your possession and experiencing ownership. This means walking in success and His promises. Being a believer means that you do experience success in all that to which you put your hands. Being a believer doesn’t mean you're a failure, or something less desirable, or that it’s okay to just stay where you are. That’s what the enemy would have the world believe – that Christians are poor, weak, unintelligent hippies who can’t do anything right. Nothing could be further from the truth! If you are bold enough to rise up and ask for it, God has success for you!

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,  nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither;  and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Psalm 1:1-3

Our promise in Psalm 1:1-3 is that when we walk with God, “whatsoever” you do shall prosper. Not “some of what you do;” not “a few things that you try really hard at once in a while.” No! God’s Word says that when you do certain things out of relationship towards God, that whatsoever you do shall prosper! When you stand set apart for the Lord’s purposes, not walking in the advice of the ungodly; not doing things that the sinner does; and not sitting on the lofty throne of the critic, judging everybody – you are on the path to success. The other part of the recipe is to keep the Word of God close at hand in your mind. During your daily routine and decision making, keep the Word of God close at hand. During the night time as you reflect on your day and carry out other routines, meditate in the Word of God so that the Holy Spirit can speak to you and reveal things to you. If you are doing these things, Psalm 1:1-3 promises supernatural success in all your dealings.

God desires that you should break old, demonic cycles, take your possession and experience ownership. You must understand that to be an owner you must think like an owner, and to be successful you must live like a success. This is a matter of adopting principles and laws that produce these results and understanding that which operates against you and your inheritance.

The “law of possession” is the act of taking into control or the act of having control. The law of possession says, “I have what is mine and I intend on keeping it”, and it says “What is mine that I do not have, I intend on getting it”. The law of possession has to do with the bigger spiritual mandate of dominion.

We see the law of possession at work in the parable of the strong man. Very simply stated, the law of possession says, “the stronger man gets the goods.”

Let’s look at Luke 11:21-22:

"When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house,  his possessions are safe.  But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils.”

The word “strong man” in the Greek means “forcible, mighty or powerful.” He is labeled a strong man because of his ability to hold in possession. Our Webster’s dictionary gives us a definition of “strong man” as “one who leads or controls by force of will or character.”

There is a “set man” in this equation as well. In this case, it would be a husband. The husband is the man that is “set” over the entire house. If you bind him, you have access to his whole family, the pastor, or even access to an entire church. The key to possession, and thereby dominion, is a stronger man than the strongman.

You bind the strongman by being bound to God’s Word. In other words, your “stuff” is yours because you are tied to his promise! If this is true, then why is it that many are not walking in the promise of possession and having dominion? Let’s look at a scripture to get some light on this topic.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself  against the knowledge of God,  and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"
2 Corinthians 10:3-5

“Imaginations” are arguments or reasoning. Strong holds are held up and supported by “arguments or reasoning” that endorse ungodly behaviors and/or lies of the devil. The answer to our question is that if you allow strongholds, the strong man takes up residence and has access to your life – thus nullifying the blessing. It matters a great deal what we accept as truth and what we allow as being acceptable.

Five Ways To Get Your Possession.

1. Bind the word of God to your heart.

2. Have a confident attitude! Fight the battle as if there is no way to lose.

3. Remind your enemy of his defeat.

4. Develop character to maintain blessing.

5. Associate with victors not victims.

Your individual mandate will have attacks launched upon it by Satan. These attacks are marked by the enemy’s perception of what God is doing in the spiritual realm! God has harvest for the people of God! God desires that you should break old, demonic cycles, take your possession and experience ownership! Use the law of possession to overthrow any strongholds trying to creep in and steal the ground you have gained, and the blessings to come. Possess your success by casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Because of the blood of Jesus, YOU are on the winning side!
