Ask For Wisdom

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
James 1:5

God asked Solomon in a dream to seek anything he desired, and the Lord would give it to him. But instead of asking for long life, riches, or honor, he asked for wisdom. It pleased the Lord for what he had sought after, and it was granted to him.

There is a worldly wisdom, and there is Godly wisdom. It is more than head knowledge; it is heart knowledge. For, you see, you can get an education, gain experience and administrate the largest company in America, but if you do not have godly wisdom, you are lacking revelation. Earthly wisdom is obtained, but heavenly wisdom is imparted.
What good is it if you know the ways of the world, but do not have the God who is running the world inside of you?
And what is even worse is to be a Christian and depend upon worldly wisdom for success. God can tell you things that only He knows, and provide provision, insight to solve a crisis in your job, or to keep you from an accident. But there is one catch; you must ask. I know what I am going to ask for this morning—more wisdom. What will you ask for?

"A genius is someone who intimately knows God."
