Rewards of Diligence

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Luke 2:51-52

Jesus increased in wisdom, stature and favor as He grew. As you and I grow in Christ, we mature spiritually as well. One of the characteristics of Jesus’ maturity we are pursuing is wisdom. Wisdom attracts the favor of GOD.

Wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, through which discernment can develop in a growing believer. There are seven pillars of wisdom, or underlying kingdom principles that under gird what wisdom does.

The fourth pillar, which we will talk about now, is diligence.

Diligence is showing perseverance at whatever is undertaken. It is characterized by steady, earnest and energetic work. Diligence in the Biblical sense is a persevering application of the Word of God. Not only does diligence mean “faithful, steady, consistent work at something you refuse to quit doing,” it requires another d-word: discipline. I want to share with you something different today – I want to share with you the 6 rewards of being diligent, according to the Word of God.
